Kyle
Kyle - 1.5 year old neutered male, 45-50 lbs
General personality: Kyle is the definition of a perfect Pittie. He has so much love in his heart to give and wants to share it with a forever home of his own. We picked him up from the shelter just hours before his euthanasia. He was surrendered along with another dog, both of which seems to have knife wounds along their face. Even while he healed, he never once showed anything but LOVE for all people.
Daily routine: He is crated at night and it let out for morning zoomies and breakfast around 8-9 AM. If we are off, he spends his time relaxing on the couch and playing with his foster siblings. If we out of the house working, he stays crated for the day. Dinner is around 7 PM and bedtime is around 10 PM .
Behavior around dogs, cats, or kids: Great with dogs and kids! He is somewhat prone to jumping up when he is excited, so he would do best without young children that he could accidently knock down. He is currently fostered with dogs of all sizes and does great with all of them. NO CATS! His prey drive seems to kick in with cats, so we are looking for a cat-free home.
Energy level (1 = very low energy; 5 = very high energy): 4. He LOVES to run around and play, but does tire out and loves napping on the couch.
Leash walking rating (1 = perfect walker; 5 = difficult walker): 2
Leash behaviors / current walking device: He is a wonderful walker! He walks with a harness and has even explored a local brewery with us, where he just people-watched and acted like the perfect gentleman!
Crate rating when left alone (1 = perfect, 5 = difficulties with crating): 1. He has NEVER had an accident in his kennel (knock on wood lol!) and only barks if he sees someone walking by the window.
Does the dog sleep through the night? Every time!
Other quirks: The one habit we are still working on breaking is his jumping! He is so happy to see people that he occasionally jumps up on them when he first sees them. We know he’s a smart cookie and this can be worked on and corrected with more training :)
What makes them happy? Everything. Kyles is so happy at all times and seems to love everything and everyone! He specifically loves chewing Nyla bones, chasing tennis balls, and rough-housing with his foster siblings.
What makes them nervous or unhappy? Nothing seems to make him nervous or unhappy.
Other displayed behavior: He does great with Nyla bones and most toys around other dogs but has once shown resource guarding behaviors with plush toys. We don’t have any more in the house and have never shown any issues since.
Current diet: Kirkland adult food - 1.5 cups twice daily
